Catered Accommodation is available for students applying to live in Cartmel, Lonsdale, Bowland, County and Pendle Colleges.
Catered accommodation is a sociable and stress-free option for students choosing their accommodation, providing them with 2 meals a day included in their accommodation fees.
Students who choose catered accommodation will have a contract loaded onto their university card, which entitles them to a breakfast, and a lunch or dinner, 7 days a week (during term-time), included in their accommodation fees.

Students who opt for Catered Accommodation have a choice of 4 venues at which to eat their meals, which are conveniently located close to their accommodation and on campus. Students are recommended to eat the majority of their meals at The Marketplace and Barkers, as these provide the best nutritional value and value for money, but can also opt for meals from The Deli and Fylde Bar for a variety of food choices.

The Marketplace is located in north campus, and is easily accessible to Catered Accommodation students living in Bowland and County.
Barkers is located in southwest campus, and is easily accessible to Catered Accommodation students living in Lonsdale, Cartmel and Pendle.
Conveniently located off Alexandra Square, the Deli is a great option for students to get a nutritious and filling breakfast or lunch between lectures or study.
Located near the centre of campus, close to Fylde college, The Mill serves a variety of hearty meals including burgers and full breakfasts.

Ensuite catered rooms are available in Bowland, County, Lonsdale, Cartmel and Pendle Colleges, at £276.29 per week. These fees are for 40-week contracts- prices may vary slightly for shorter contract lengths.
These fees mean that for students on the scheme, 2 full meals a day will cost a total of £12.99 per day.
These rates are for 2026/27.
Whichever room type you choose will be exactly the same as its non-catered equivalent.
Your study-bedroom will be fitted out with a bed (with under-bed storage), desk, wardrobe, drawers, notice board, shelves and a chair. Curtains or blinds will be at the windows.
Again, whichever type of accommodation you live in will still offer the same facilities as its non-catered equivalent.
The kitchens are equipped with cookers and microwaves, kettle and toaster, fridges and freezers and cupboard storage space, as well as table and seating.
A vacuum cleaner, ironing board and iron are also supplied.
Students who opt for catered accommodation will be allocated to live with other students on the scheme, making it a sociable and stress-free option.
With each college being situated close to at least one of the food outlets on the scheme, students on the scheme have the opportunity to go for meals with their flatmates, while getting the chance to organically meet other people on the scheme.
If you are interested in catered packages but would like a slightly more flexible option, the Freedom Eats scheme is a pre-paid student dining scheme designed to make student life easier, healthier, and more affordable. Termly and annual plans can be purchased throughout the year, with options for 1, 2 and 3 meals a day available on the scheme.
